The Fish

"And He saith unto them, 'Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men.'  And they straightway left their nets, and followed Him."  Matthew 4:19,20

Anita fashioned the fish as a reminder of those who willingly laid down their work, followed Jesus, and began doing His work.  They became fishers of men, like Christ, who demonstrated love and concern for all mankind.

It seems appropriate that the Greek word for fish, pronounced "ik thoos" should have special meaning for all Christians.  The Greek letters form an acronym that brings meaning to or lord in the following way:

Jesus Christ God's Son Savior

The fish reminds us of who our Lord is and of His desire to save all mankind.
