Heart of My Heart

"May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ."  II Thessalonians 3:5

The Lord is the One who directs our hearts into the love of God and makes God's heart our heart. It is impossible to know the heart of God through our own strength, but our Guide, is the Lord himself, who laid down His life for us because of His great love.

On a spiritual level, when the Lord directs our hearts into the love of God, we are blessed with the revelation of God's love to us. We begin to see God become our Provider, taking care of all our needs, and we also begin to see God as the Bridegroom, loving his Bride, the church.

As our hearts become more like the heart of God, we will naturally become more like Him, better equipped to love the special people in our lives. Husbands and wives, parents and children, close friends, and couples in love, will make the desires of one another's hearts become their desires.

This piece is a cross with a heart in the center of the front and of the back, which appropriately symbolizes the laying down of one's own life in order to serve God and others, whose hearts have now each become Heart of My Heart.
